Russian Students' Day, also known as Tatiana Day, is traditionally celebrated on 25 January.

On this date in 1755, Empress Elizabeth signed the decree founding Moscow University. Under the calendar then in use, the date coincided with the feast day of Saint Tatiana, giving the holiday its two names.

The tradition continues today. Students appreciate an opportunity to celebrate and take a break from their studies, although the busy examination period sometimes gets in the way.

Happy name day to everyone called Tatiana, happy Russian Students' Day to all students, and double congratulations to students named Tatiana.

We wish you academic success and, of course, good luck!
