Modular Diesel Power Plants to Replace Wooden Buildings

Two settlements in Khabarovsk Krai will replace power stations housed in wooden buildings with modular facilities.

The new diesel generator comes in a containerized configuration using a Sever-type enclosure. It includes electricity and fuel metering, an operating-hours counter, and fire suppression. The package also provides a separate operator module for maintenance personnel, equipped with fire suppression and an automatic fire alarm.

Replacing power stations housed in wooden structures is intended to reduce the risk of emergencies in which a building fire leaves an entire settlement without electricity. Such an incident occurred in a regional village several years ago on New Year's Eve. Supply was quickly restored, but the incident highlighted a systemic safety concern.
