Industry Guest Lecture Connects Students with Energy Practice

As part of the Electricity Generation Technologies course, students attended a lecture by Anastasia Mylnikova, chief specialist in the automated dispatch control systems department of the Urals Regional Dispatch Office and a 2024 graduate of our AI in Power Engineering master's programme.

The lecture explored "Electricity and Capacity Markets in Russia: How They Work and Why Future Specialists Need to Understand Them."

Students learned:

• how Russia's electricity and capacity markets operate;

• what challenges different market participants face;

• how digital technologies support dispatch control;

• why understanding economic mechanisms is as important as technical knowledge.
