UrFU Energy Institute Marks 95 Years and Celebrates Research Achievements

On 16 December 2025, the Ural Power Engineering Institute marked its 95th anniversary. Nearly a century of history, discoveries and generations of engineers, researchers and educators have made the Institute a major centre for energy education and research in Russia.

The Institute is where large-scale scientific and technological projects are conceived and implemented, digital twins are developed, energy storage systems are investigated and future energy systems are designed. It is also home to our Research Laboratory for Digital Twins in Power Engineering.

Four colleagues from the laboratory received letters of appreciation at the anniversary ceremony, recognising their dedication, professionalism and personal contributions to the Institute's development. This recognition is especially meaningful after a year of substantial projects and active engagement with the professional community.

Our master's programme also had a busy 2025: international visits, publications, expert lectures, competition and grant successes, and new projects and programmes. We thank everyone who has worked alongside us and enter the new year with ambitious plans, new ideas and a strong team.
