UrFU and Liaoning Launch an AI Engineering Programme in China
The Ural Intelligent Engineering Institute has opened in China as a joint project between UrFU and Liaoning Technical University. Our Artificial Intelligence in Electric Power Engineering master's programme is part of this international educational initiative.
UrFU academics will teach in English in China, bringing the programme into an international engineering environment.
Beyond the cooperation model, this development illustrates AI's evolving role in energy. Artificial intelligence is becoming an engineer's assistant, supporting data analysis, pattern recognition, equipment condition assessment and decision-making.
Engineers remain responsible for the results: they understand the underlying physics, equipment constraints and associated risks.
Our programme therefore combines power engineering, industrial data, artificial intelligence and engineering judgement.
