How to Earn Research Rating Points and Qualify for Scholarships

How can you test and present your research findings? How can you qualify for scholarships recognizing scientific achievements?

Here is a selection of research events held by the Ural Power Engineering Institute at UrFU.

1. Science Exhibition: Student Festival of Research and Technology.

Purpose: Promote student research in Sverdlovsk Region and identify tools for supporting scientific and technological projects.

Organizer: Ural Power Engineering Institute Student Union.

Date and place: September 26, 2023; second-floor foyer of UrFU's main academic building.

2. Annual International Ural-Siberian Conference (BUSSEC 2023: International Belarusian-Ural-Siberian Smart Energy Conference).

Purpose: Support scientific work, increase research publications and international academic mobility among students and early-career researchers, exchange expertise, and promote research in advanced electric power engineering and information technology.

Organizers: UrFU and Belarusian National Technical University, with support from NTI EnergyNet and the IEEE Russia (Siberia) Section.

Date and place: September 25–29, 2023; UrFU.

3. Ural Power Engineering Institute Research and Engineering Exhibition and the International Ural Project of Energy Conference for Young Scientists.

Purpose: Promote project-based education, identify and support talented student researchers, advance early-career research qualifications, exchange expertise, and develop energy-sector research.

Organizer: Institute Council of Young Scientists.

Date and place: November–December 2023; second-floor foyer of UrFU's main building.

4. Nuclear Potential Research and Education Project.

Purpose: Identify and support talented engineering students who undertake research and projects and demonstrate technical creativity and innovative thinking.

Organizer: Institute Student Union.

Date and place: March–April 2024; institute media room T-216.

5. Crash Test Pitch Session.

Purpose: Advance project-based education, identify and support students with critical thinking skills involved in research and innovation, and develop early-career research expertise.

Organizer: Institute Council of Young Scientists.

Date and place: April–May 2024; UrFU.
