Cybersecurity for Critical Energy Infrastructure
This course introduces the types of information requiring protection, the classification of cyber threats to electric power facilities and the available protection methods. Students study how those methods work and how to select safeguards according to threats, risks and possible consequences.
The course covers:
– fundamental principles of information security and cyber protection at electric power facilities;
– legal, organisational, software, technical and algorithmic protection measures, including methods for assessing threats and safeguards;
– current information-security legislation and industry standards.
The lecturer is Pavel Viktorovich Matrenin, a leading researcher at the Power Engineering Digital Twins Laboratory, PhD in Engineering. He has ten years of professional experience.
