When people hear the term artificial intelligence, many imagine something threatening: a neural network that will replace everyone at work. This concern is particularly noticeable in engineering: what if AI becomes better at calculations, optimisation and system configuration?

In practice, the relationship is different.

AI is not a magic button. It is a tool that becomes especially powerful in the hands of a skilled engineer. Rather than eliminating expertise, it expands professional capabilities. Calculators did not replace mathematicians; they became useful tools. Similarly, digital twins do not make operations engineers obsolete: they can help them work more accurately.

This is precisely what our master's programme teaches. Students learn not merely to use neural networks, but to integrate them into engineering workflows and make AI an effective professional tool rather than a competitor.
