Student Interview: Programming and Power Engineering

We asked a student on our programme about his experiences and views on studying. Meet Artyom.

Why did you choose this programme?

'I enrolled because I wanted to learn programming and then apply it in electric power engineering. Finding a programme that combined the two was important to me, and I found one here. I wanted to explore programming in greater depth while connecting it with my existing power engineering background. For me, this programme brings the two fields together effectively.'

How are your studies going?

'I am very positive about the way the programme is delivered. First, there is the format: rather than using standard university classrooms, we study in a comfortable, modern coworking space. All lectures are streamed online, so students—most of whom have jobs—can watch live or view recordings in the community. Second, essential information is posted promptly in the Telegram channel. You can ask any question there and receive a response directly from programme managers or lecturers. I would also highlight the teaching team's high level of professionalism. The material is up to date, and every subject is oriented towards practical applications in real electric power engineering tasks. Another clear advantage is that materials from lectures, practical classes and laboratories can be applied immediately to project-practicum case studies from industry partners. That can provide a useful boost to a future career.'
