A New Industrial Excursion for Students
Our master's students recently visited H Energy LLC, formerly Hitachi ABB Power Grids.
The visit was led by Aleksandr Sergeyevich Ilyin, PhD in Engineering and a division manager at the company.
Students toured:
– the factory acceptance testing facility for 110–220 kV high-voltage switching and measuring equipment;
– the high-voltage laboratory for power-frequency type tests;
– the laboratory for mechanical endurance type tests, including tests of circuit-breaker and disconnector operating mechanisms.
They learned about:
– the company's main activities;
– its principal products: 110–220 kV disconnectors, circuit breakers, current transformers and voltage transformers;
– the equipment production process.
Industrial visits of this kind allow master's students to meet industry professionals and see how engineering companies operate in practice.
