An English-taught master's programme, Artificial Intelligence in Power Industry, has been launched through the joint institute of Ural Federal University and Liaoning Technical University in China.

Pavel Matrenin, a UrFU lecturer and researcher at the Power Engineering Digital Twins Laboratory, is currently delivering introductory lectures to students at the Chinese partner university. He introduces major areas of AI application in modern power engineering and outlines the subjects that students will study later in the programme.

Liaoning Technical University is located in Fuxin, China, and is known for its technology and international education programmes.

The partnership is more than an exchange of expertise: it supports the development of an international academic environment and prepares a new generation of engineers for the digital transformation of the energy sector.
