Optimization of Power System Operating Conditions

The course focuses on applied mathematics for electric power engineering: optimal-search methods and skills in formulating and solving optimisation problems involving power system operating conditions and electricity supply systems.

Considerable attention is also paid to information support for power system management. Students study the use of MATLAB, Mathcad and PowerFactory for optimisation and load forecasting, and learn how to account for different constraints when solving practical problems.
