This course covers thermodynamic cycles, the efficiency indicators of heat engines, their design and the operating characteristics of mobile power plants.

Students learn to calculate thermodynamic cycles, heat balances and the technical and economic performance of heat engines, including with computer software. They also develop skills in selecting the composition and operating modes of mobile power plants.

The course additionally addresses the environmental aspects of heat-engine operation.

The lecturer is Leonid Valeryevich Plotnikov, Doctor of Engineering and professor in the Department of Turbines and Engines at the Ural Power Engineering Institute. He has 13 years of professional experience.
