Established on November 1, 2021, this relatively new professional holiday aims to raise the profile of teaching in higher education.

Its date was chosen to commemorate the birthday of Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov, the distinguished Russian scientist and educator who helped lay the foundations of education in Russia.
