UrFU Strengthens Its Position in the ARWU Global Ranking

According to the 2025 edition of ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, Ural Federal University maintained strong positions across key research disciplines and improved its standing in several areas.

Energy Science and Engineering is a particular source of pride. For the second consecutive year, UrFU was the only Russian university listed in this subject's global 201–300 band.

Materials Science was placed in the 151–200 band and among the leading Russian institutions.

Metallurgical Engineering ranked in the global 101–150 band and second in Russia.

Mathematics was placed in the global 201–300 band, ranking third among Russian universities.

These results highlight UrFU's position in Russian engineering education and research, as well as its participation in the international academic community.
