AI in Power Engineering: Master’s Programme Overview
Programme website: energy.urfu.online/ai_power_ru
The programme is intended primarily for bachelor's and specialist-degree graduates in engineering and the natural sciences.
Graduates' professional activities may include:
– Applying artificial intelligence to problems in electric power engineering.
– Investigating mathematical models of technical systems and technological processes, and methods of data processing and analysis.
– Developing software and hardware for intelligent decision-support systems with information-security requirements in mind.
Graduates can research and develop adaptive systems to address applied mathematical problems in electric power engineering.
The curriculum comprises three main components:
– Traditional mathematical modules, including discrete mathematics and optimisation of technical systems.
– Data processing and analysis, Python programming and cybersecurity.
– Applied power engineering challenges, including electricity generation technologies, power-system operating-mode analysis and optimisation, and emerging digital technologies for the electric power sector.
The programme is delivered at the Ural Power Engineering Institute.
