On 17 September, Pavel Viktorovich Matrenin, a leading researcher at our Power Engineering Digital Twins Laboratory, delivered a presentation at Liaoning Technical University in China entitled "Methodological Foundations for Trusted Intelligent Forecasting Systems in Power Engineering."

The research introduces the Trusted Intelligent Forecasting Systems (TIFS) methodology, combining ontological modelling, modified gradient boosting and explainable AI algorithms.

The reported evaluation results include:

• forecast errors reduced by 13–24% compared with baseline models;

• estimated annual economic benefits of RUB 1.6–12.8 million per power plant and RUB 2.5–8.1 million per industrial enterprise.

Colleagues in Liaoning noted that the approach aligns with international developments in transparent and secure AI and expressed an interest in further collaboration.

The work illustrates how UrFU researchers are developing intelligent, digital and more sustainable energy technologies.
